It is the first time the King and the PM have met since the PM’s Guardian op-ed in which he called for dialogue on a formal apology for slavery. King Charles will make the opening speech at tomorrow’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua in which the monarch is expected to speak about the UK’s colonial legacy with “unflinching honesty” and “sincere sorrow”.
