Kaja Kallas: Europe Must Defend Itself Faster, Smarter and With Ukraine’s Experience! EU High Representative Kaja Kallas opened the Informal Meeting of Defence Ministers in Druids Glen, County Wicklow, Ireland, hosted under the Irish Presidency. Kallas said ministers would focus on three key defence issues: EU support to Ukraine, space in security and defence, and current affairs including maritime security and Lebanon. She announced that next week she will launch a high-level group of former political and military leaders from several EU countries, as well as the UK and Ukraine, to take a fresh look at how Europe should respond to current and increasing military threats. Kallas stressed that speed is essential.
